Reports of alleged clown threats are continuing. A 14-year-old Galesburg teen told police yesterday that he ran home after being followed by a suspicious person with clown makeup on.
The teen was walking near Mulberry St. and Grand Ave. a little before 7 p.m. when he noticed a person wearing plain clothing, dressed in clown makeup, following closely.
The teen’s grandmother called police 30 minutes later. They patrolled the area and did not find anyone matching the description.
The report is another in a series of clown related threats reported nationally. Yesterday, Steele Elementary School went on soft lockdown after a student claimed to see a clown lurking.
That report remains unfounded as well.
