Hilary Anderson has been selling her and other artists work at Rivet Boutique on North Seminary for over a year. Now she’s headed up the block to the site of Dove Tail Arts at 61 S. Seminary.

It’s really more of a merger between the inventories of Rivet Boutique and Dove Tail, hence a new name, Dovetail Rivet and Stitch.

Anderson says she’s had her eye out for a new space to better feature some of the high end jewelry art she carries.

Owner of Dove Tail Arts Bernice Hamilton was looking to retire and approached Anderson, who will take over the Dove Tail space and product.

She tells WGIL she’ll be keeping many of the artists that Dove Tail had already carried.

“Not only that but I would get to continue carrying the work she had in here and connecting her clientele and kind of merge forces,” Anderson says.

And about the new name…

“I wanted to keep ‘Dove Tail’ in the name because she had built such a wonderful thing here and rivet, I’m keeping that part of my name,” Anderson says. “And I wanted to add another method of crafting.”

Dovetail Rivet and Stitch is now open though Anderson says moving in her inventory will be a process over the next few weeks.
