Veteran’s Day tomorrow is a designated time in which to honor military personnel. They’ll do that in a few ways in the Galesburg area.

The American Legion Auxiliary is organizing Poppy Day once again.

Volunteers will be at local businesses giving red poppies, a symbol of remembrance for those who have fought and died for the United States.

In exchange they’ll take free will donations.

All that money that’s received will go into a special account for Veterans Assistance and Rehabilitation.

Veterans at the Quincy Veteran’s Home assemble the flowers that are then distributed by volunteers.

Breakfast is being served free for veteran’s at Hy-Vee locations, they say as a way to give back.

Also the Galesburg Veteran’s Day Parade is on Sunday starting at the intersection of Seminary and Main.

The parade will include the Monmouth Pipe Band as well as several veteran and car clubs.

It starts at 2 p.m. in downtown Galesburg.
