A Galesburg woman involved in a Friday crash faces a string of charges after a confrontation with police lead to her kicking two officers.

Thirty-five-year-old Kirsten Lott faces eight separate counts which include two counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer, two counts of resisting arrest and aggravated assault among other charges.

A police report says Lott struck another vehicle multiple times with her Jeep Patriot near the corner of E. Losey and Seminary Streets. She had fled the scene by the time authorities arrived.

Upon arriving at the woman’s home, police spoke with Lott about the incident. She told the officers she had been drinking and was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident.

However, during the arrest, Lott allegedly resisted and kicked an officer. When she was eventually transported to the Knox County Jail she kicked the officer again and continued to resist.
