CHICAGO (AP) — Authorities say five Chicago firefighters were taken to hospitals after they reported feeling ill after working to extinguish an earlier fire.
The Chicago Fire Department says the firefighters had returned to the Engine 26 firehouse early Monday when they reported feeling sick and were listed in fair-to-serious condition at three hospitals.
Details about the illnesses weren’t immediately released. The department was working to determine what caused the illnesses.
