Galesburg Silver Streaks Girls Basketball @ Rock Island Alleman Pioneers

The Galesburg Silver Streaks pick up their first Western Big 6 Conference win of the season as they down the Alleman Pioneers on the road by a final of 52-30. Close in the first quarter the Streaks only lead 12-11 at the end of the first and there were a lot of turnovers by both teams in the entire first half but the Streaks defense and shooting really took over in that second quarter. Streaks ended the game with 13 turnovers why Alleman had tons of trouble holding on to the ball ending the game with a total of 23 turnovers. Streaks were lead tonight in scoring by Kaylah Townsell with 13 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and a steal while Saige Milroy ended the night with 11 points off a few 2’s, a couple 3’s, and going 3 for 3 from the line.

The Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game for tonight was Andrea Sampson. She had 10 points on the night, including 3 3-pointers which she was fouled on one of those and was able to capitalize on a 4 point play.

The Streaks are now 6-1 on the season as well as 1-1 in the Western Big 6. The Pioneers drop to 2-5 on the season and also 1-1 in the Western Big 6 Conference. Streaks are off on Saturday, their next game comes up Tuesday night when they host Lincoln High School.
