KCCDD sets up endowment with Community Foundation

KCCDD closed their foundation last year, which CEO Mark Rudolph says left them without a “vehicle” for donors who are concerned with the organization’s long-term solvency.  That’s not a concern anymore, after it was announced this week that KCCDD has set up an endowment fund with the Galesburg Community Foundation.  Rudolph tells WGIL that the endowment is starting off with a small amount of money, $10,000.

“But it does create again that vehicle,” Rudolph tells us, “that will allow individuals who like to help KCCDD today but are also concerned about helping KCCDD tomorrow.”

KCCDD is also receiving financial resources from the GCF for the endowment.  So as potential benefactors consider their wills and estate planning Rudolph says the social service agency now has a method for not just receiving but managing those gifts.  They’re now considering options of how to grow the endowment. To begin, Rudolph thinks they will contact some of their past donors to make them aware of their choices for giving to the endowment.  KCCDD has been in Galesburg for over 50 years, serving adults with developmental disabilities by providing job, social skill and community training.  Around 350 individuals use their services.  Rudolph has been vocal about the diminishing funding from the state for his agency.  He says they haven’t gotten a rate adjustment in a decade.
