
Patsy E. Roe, 79 of Galesburg, passed away at 5:59 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.She was born July 26, 1937 near Elmwood, the daughter of Dewey and Neomi (Hall) Hale. She married C. Walter “Walt” Roe on September 30, 1955 at the Abingdon Christian Church.
Patsy is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Walt Roe; one daughter, Vickie (Richard) Darmer of Belleville; one son, Richard (Claudia) Roe of Wichita, Kansas; four grandchildren, Stephanie Roe, Kevin (Amy) Darmer, Alex Roe and Christina Roe; and one brother, Ronald (Irene) Hale of rural Oquawka.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother Donald Dean Hale and a sister, Jean Means.
She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1955. She worked at the Blue Bell Factory in Abingdon and later had worked at the Outboard Marine Corporation in Galesburg for 30 years until it closed. She had lived most of her adult life in Galesburg and she and her husband wintered for 29 years in the Bokeelia, Florida area. She enjoyed fishing, rock hunting, taking pictures and going to yard sales.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Rev. Darryl McDaniel will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
