The Galesburg Boys Basketball team led only once in the Iowa-Illinois shootout against Pleasant Valley and fell 44-27. That was very early on when they were up 6-5, but then the Spartans scored the last 7 points of the first quarter and eventually working their way up to an 8 point halftime lead. They got the lead up to 9 and then spreading it out and winning it, going away 44-27.
Brian Damon led the Spartans in scoring, in fact he was the only PV player in double-figures with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Despite only scoring 27, Silver Streaks had two players in double-figures. TJ Pendleton and Jacob Ross who was today’s Dave’s Autobody Crunchtime Player of the Game, each had 11 points. Pendleton also led the Streaks in rebounding with 12.
This is Galesburg’s 2nd straight loss as they drop to 6-3 on the season coming off their non-conference loss at Morton last Saturday night.
Galesburg tries to get back in the winning column Tuesday night with a make-up game at Moline. That game was postponed Friday night due to weather conditions. Brad and Jim will have the broadcast of that game at 7:06 from Morton fieldhouse with a scheduled tip at 7:30.
