“The Galesburg Boys Basketball team let a 4th quarter lead slip away in a 46-42 loss to Taylorville on the final game of day 2 of the Taylorville Holiday Tournament. Taylorville outscored the Silver Streaks 14-8 in the final quarter to win it by 4, in fact the Silver Streaks had only four second half field goals, as they fall to 8-5 on the season while Taylorville improves to 7-3.
“Galesburg did get two players into double figures; Jacob Ross, our Dave’s Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game, with a career high 18 he had all 4 of the Silver Streaks 3-point baskets. T.J. Pendleton finished with a double double, 14 points and 12 rebounds. Silver Streaks now will get back into action against the top seed from the other pool in this tournament, they’ll play Mt. Zion at noon tomorrow, our pre-game at 11:40. The outcome of that game will determine when the Streaks will play their second game and what kind of a trophy they may be playing for. 46-42 the final from Taylorville, the host Tornadoes win it.”
