The Quincy Blue Devils opened the game on a 20-2 run as Galesburg turned the ball over, started the game 0-11 from the field and really never got any better than that the rest of the way as as Quincy cruised to a 55-26 victory at home, over the Silver Streaks.
Galesburg drops to 10-8 on the season, 1-3 in the Western Big 6 conference as Quincy improves to 12-3 and 3-1 in the Western Big 6.
Blue Devils may have been a little inspired with a teachers strike looming on Tuesday and not knowing when they might play again with a day and a weekend off.
Silver Streaks did not put anybody in double-figures tonight as TJ Pendleton was the leading scorer with 6 points and at one point, Silver Streaks had 67% of their scoring coming from the free-throw line.
Galesburg sophomores also lost 55-40 as the Streaks get ready to play two games in the Martin Luther King tournament back home for the first time since early December as they will open against Dunlap at 12:30p.
