Galesburg Silver Streaks Girls Basketball vs Peoria High Lions

The Galesburg Silver Streaks girls fell to the 9th ranked team in Class 3A, the Peoria High Lions by a final of 46-34.

Only 3 players scored for Peoria, but all 3 were in double-figures who were led by Jaylynn Lawson who is going to Bradley next year and finished with 21 points. The freshman Duriah Edwards finished with 14 points and McKenzie Jenkins had 11.

Streaks were led by Kaylah Townsell with 13 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal and she was the Dave’s Autobody Crunchtime Player of the Game tonight.

Silver Streaks had trouble keeping a hold of the ball and had 17 turnovers to Peoria Highs’ 9 turnovers. The Streaks had a good 3rd Quarter where Kaylah Townsell scored 8 points as they outscored Peoria, 12-8, but got outscored 17-12 in the final quarter.

With the loss tonight, the Streaks drop to 16-5 on the season as Peoria is now 13-4.
