Galesburg Silver Streaks Girls Basketball vs Rockford Auburn

Streaks picked up their 17th win of the year as they blew out the Knights of Rockford-Auburn, 64-34.

Everybody got to play for the Streaks, in fact, everybody had significant playing time as the leading scorer off the bench was Lauryn Campbell with 10 points for the Streaks and hit her first three 3-point attempts and was 1 for 2 from the line and pulled down 3 rebounds. Lauryn was our Dave’s Autobody Crunchtime Player of the Game tonight.

Three players scored 9, who were Saige Milroy had three 3-pointers in the first quarter, Andrea Sampson had a three and 3 two’s and Yvonne Mixon off the bench with all her 9 points coming in the 3rd Quarter.

Kaylah Townsell sat out the entire 2nd half, after scoring six points on a couple of threes to start the game but still had 5 assists, 5 steals and a rebound as she got to rest her ankle.

Streaks shot 26 for 53 from the field tonight.

Next up, the Silver Streaks girls will face the top-ranked team in 3A, the two-time defending state champion Morton Potters at 2:00 on Monday afternoon.
