Here is a recap of this afternoon’s game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:
“The Galesburg Silver Streaks put up 23 points in the 4th quarter after scoring 23 through the first three, and held off Minooka 46-40, in the first game of two for the boys in today’s Martin Luther King Tournament. Galesburg improves to 13-8 with the victory and more importantly 4-0 in the Tournament and they will take on Peoria for the Championship tonight. DeAndre Moren lead the way in scoring for the Silver Streaks with 10. He was 6-6 from the free-throw line in the 4th quarter as Galesburg built a 9 point lead and held it there, thanks to 11-12 shooting overall in the quarter, and DeAndre got out Dave’s Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game for that.
“T.J. Pendleton just missed double figures with 9 points but he did lead the Streaks with 12 rebounds. Johnathan Butler lead Minooka with 20, he had half of their 40 points. Indians drop to 13-6, they are a non-factor in the tournament, again as Galesburg will play Peoria for the title tonight. 6:40 for the pre-game and 7:00 is the scheduled start as both teams are 4-0 in this tournament.”
