The GHS Silver Streaks Girls basketball team beat the number 1 team in class 3A, the Morton Potters, 40-37 this afternoon. This was the Streaks’ first win against the Potters since Martin Luther King Day 2009. The Streaks held the lead throughout the most of the game, always maintaining the lead to close out the quarters.
Ellen Junk was our Dave’s Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game due to, not only her defensive presence throughout the game, but also her free-throw shot with .8 seconds left to seal Morton’s fate.
