Mr. Terry L. McLeese, Sr., 71, of Knoxville, Illinois died at 12:20 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2017 at his home.He was born on November 9, 1945 in Galesburg, Illinois to Clarence Arthur and Hazel Woerner McLeese. He married Ida Watters Clevenger on April 21, 1995 in Knoxville. She survives.
Also surviving is a son, Terry Lee (and Ann) McLeese, Jr. of Paris, Tennessee; four daughters, Kimberly (and Robert) Morris of Maquon, Illinois, Kristie (and Troy) Marquith of Galesburg, Tracy Brennan of Knoxville and Dena (and Greg) Mummey of Dahinda, Illinois; a brother, Jim “Luke” McLeese of Galesburg; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Terry was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Eugene McLeese, Robert Arthur McLeese and Willis Edward McLeese and by four sisters, Jackie Smith, Patty Jo Syron, Betty Jean Shaw and Connie Kay Foote McLeese.
Terry worked at Gates Rubber Company for 28 years. He was a member of the Knoxville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and reading. He was an avid Chicago Cub fan. He truly enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Knoxville United Methodist Church with Rev. Chet Travis and Rev. Dan Lybarger officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Cremation will follow the visitation.
