Galesburg Silver Streaks Boys Basketball vs Lake Forest Academy Caxys

Here is a recap of tonight’s game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:

“A 20 point 1st half deficit at the hands of Lake Forest Academy turned out to be too much for the Silver Streaks to overcome as they fell 71-57 at home in their own shootout. Three players lead the Caxys in double figures, Chris Harris lead the way with 21, and he was big down the stretch hitting all 8 of his 4th quarter free-throws to help Lake Forest maintain a lead. The Silver Streaks got within 7 on a number of occasions after that 20 point 1st half deficit, but just could never get any closer and falling by 14.

Mark Harden matched a career high with 15. He was our Dave’s Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game with 7 of those 15 in the 4th quarter. T.J. Pendleton also finished in double figures with 13. Silver Streaks drop to 14-11 on the season, and they are next on the road at Rock Island Alleman next Friday night, and a non-conference game at St. Charles East on Saturday. The Saints were here, at the Galesburg shootout. They lost to Alton earlier today by 3, but they had a young man who scored 33 points in that loss and that’ll prove a defensive challenge for the Silver Streaks in that non-conference game next Saturday.”
