Illinois State Police of District 7 kept busy in 2016.
The district that covers counties of Henry, Knox, Mercer and Rock Island counties conducted over 8,000 traffic stops last year.
278 individuals were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
There were also an additional 413 criminal arrests on roadways.
Troopers seized a ton of cannabis…literally.
Officers confiscated about 2,300 pounds of the now decriminalized but still illegal substance.
Other drugs seized included 121 pounds of cocaine, 7 pounds of heroin and approximately 140 illicit prescription pills.
