Here is a recap of tonight’s game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:
“The final home game of the season for the Galesburg Boys Basketball team was not a merry finish, as Geneseo spoiled the party 56-49, dropping the Silver Streaks to a 500 record for the first time this season at 15-15 while Geneseo moves to 12-10. Galesburg had a 1-point lead at halftime but Geneseo outscored the Silver Streaks by 6 in the 3rd quarter and knocked down some big free throws in the 4th quarter to win it by 7.
“Geneseo had two players in double figures, led by Isaiah Rivera, just a Freshman, with 16 points and Jacob Pauley had 15. For the Silver Streaks T.J. Pendleton, yet another double double, 15 points and 13 rebounds. Our Dave’s Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game was Jacob Carl with 12.
“The Silver Streaks now move on to the final regular season game of the season at Rock Island next Friday night, for Senior Night festivities for the Rocks. The Rocks are playing for, what they hope is, a share of the Western Big 6 Conference Title. Galesburg Sophomores did get a big win over Geneseo to wrap up the home portion of their schedule, 69-38.”
