Last season for longtime GHS baseball coach

For the first time in 19 years, Galesburg High School will need to find a new head varsity baseball coach.  That’s because Arnie Gonzalez has decided to step aside following this spring’s season, which will be his 18th at the helm of the Silver Streaks.  Gonzalez is a 1985 GHS graduate who went on to pitch for Monmouth College under hall-of-fame coach Terry Glasgow.  He then spent 6 years as an assistant under longtime Galesburg coach Gary Bruington.  Coach Gonzalez will join Tom Meredith on this week’s Galesburg Live program at 7:15 Saturday on WGIL.
