Monmouth College has received what is not only the largest gift in their institution’s history but one of the largest gifts ever given to an Illinois liberal arts college.
$20 million has been committed to Monmouth by an anonymous donor, with $15 million coming in the near term and $5 million deferred.

The gift was go into the college’s endowment which currently stands at $100 million.

President Dr. Clarence Wyatt said the couple who gave the gift did so because they believe in Monmouth’s mission as a college of high opportunity and achievement.

Wyatt says the gift will help Monmouth “chart its own path with greater confidence…even in the face of uncertainties.”

Board of Trustees Vice Chair Mark Kopinski says the $20 million gift is also an affirmation of Wyatt’s leadership as president and the entire Monmouth faculty.
