Discussion lasted the better part of a half-hour Monday night when the Galesburg City Council discussed whether or not to privatize PART of the operation of Lake Storey Beach — part, because as you’ll hear, the city will still open and close the beach itself, and will not utilize lifeguards.
You’ll hear the following in this discussion: Aldermen Wayne Dennis, Peter Schwartzman, and Jeremy Karlin; Mayor John Pritchard; and City Manager Todd Thompson.
On Wednesday, you’ll hear an extended part of the discussion dealing with how the proposed contract came before aldermen.
