
Lindsey Ann Chase, 68, of Galesburg, died at 7:13 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017 at home.
She was born May 12, 1949, in Galesburg, the daughter of Robert and Audrey Jane (Burch) Redfern. She married Gary Chase on June 22, 1968, in Galesburg.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 49 years, Gary; her father, Robert Redfern of Galesburg; a daughter, Lorena “Lori” Chase of Peoria, Illinois; a son, Brian (and Emilie) Chase of Bloomington, Illinois; a grandson, Cobi; a brother, Steve (and Peggy) Redfern of Galesburg; her beloved dog, Holly; and grand kitty, Callye; and a grand dog, Duncan. She was preceded in death by her mother in 2012.
Lindsey was treasurer of Summit Environmental Services for 24 years. She was the executive assistant to the Vice President of Information Technology at Carl Sandburg College for 19 years and she had worked for Don White Oil Company. She retired in June 2012. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1967 and completed course work at Carl Sandburg College. She was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Lindsey was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She loved animals and was always concerned about their well-being. She was an avid lifelong reader. She greatly enjoyed dark chocolate, potato chips, coffee, and NASCAR. She spent countless hours caring for others. Her love for people was genuine, sincere, deep, and unconditional. She was a wonderful baker. Lindsey lived a great life and touched so many lives. She inspired us, entertained us, helped us, and cared for us. Most importantly, she loved us – no matter what. Her unconditional love is her legacy. This love made us feel as if we could do anything, it made our lives full, and it made us stronger.
Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2017 at the chapel with Rick Welty officiating.
