John W. “Jack” Pasco, 83, of Galesburg, died at 4:27 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born February 24, 1934, in Galesburg, the son of Mike and Stella (Joseph) Pasco. He married Doris Cooley on August 2, 1958, in Galesburg. He later married Sherry Quinones in January 1992 in Galesburg.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry; two daughters, Debi (Tom) Meline, Wataga and Peggy (Harvey) Stidham, Mapleton; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; seven step-children, Rhonda (Jim) Alfredson, Bettendorf, Iowa, Donna Quinones, Moline, Bill Quinones, Spokane, Wash., Kris (Todd) Harmening, Matherville, Dan Quinones, San Diego, Calif., Diane (Terry) Webb, East Moline, and Cheryl Paxton, DeWitt, Iowa, 16 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Sam (Lana) Pasco, Peoria; and a sister, Donna Didesch, East Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Chela May, Jeannie Burdett, as well as, one step grandchild, Aaron.

Jack graduated from Manual High School in Peoria. He enlisted in the United States Navy January 8, 1953.   He was a radar man with the rank of Seaman. He was honorably discharged December 27, 1956.

Jack worked in maintenance at John Deere for 30 years before retiring.   He enjoyed hunting and fishing and working on lawnmowers.

Cremation will be accorded. No visitation or service is planned as per Jack’s wishes. His remains will be buried with his father in St. Joseph Cemetery in Peoria. A private family memorial will be held is his honor in Peoria at a later date. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Guardian Angels Humane Society or Knox County Humane Society, both of Galesburg.
