
Kathleen Mildred Dillin, 102, formerly of Abingdon, passed away at 2:05 a.m. Sunday, September 3, 2017 at the Marigold Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Galesburg, where she had resided since November of 2011.
She was born October 29, 1914 in Canton, the daughter of Clyde Eugene and Jessie Lizabeth Dorman Stokes. She married Clifford Eugene Schisler in 1932 in Monmouth. She later married Vern Gott in 1972. He preceded her in death. She then married Charley J. Dillin in 1979. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Raymond Stokes, her sister, Lucille Shreves, and her son-in-law, Bob Westover.
Kathleen is survived by one son, Neil C. (Ruby) Schisler of Knoxville; three daughters, Elaine Westover of Abingdon, Linda (Chuck) Batson of Abingdon, and Donna (Arlen) Mason of Galesburg; an adopted son, Andrew Schisler of Arkansas; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, more than 14 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way, and 2 great-great-great-grandchildren on the way. She is also survived by stepchildren and their families.
She had lived in the Canton, Middle Grove, London Mills, Galesburg, Abingdon and Ash Flat Arkansas areas during her life. She worked at the Blue Bell Factory in Abingdon and then at the Galesburg State Research Hospital for 26 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Galesburg. She was also a member of the Galesburg Moose Lodge and the Indian Point Card Club. She enjoyed flower gardening, square dancing and spending time with her family.
Cremation will be accorded. Her family will celebrate her life with a private service and private burial at a later date. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
