
The Silver Streak girls swept Richwoods in straight sets 25-17, 25-14.
Galesburg’s Hannah Huppenbauer led the Streaks early in the first set with served five straight points – giving them an 8-3 lead.
In the second set, GHS fell behind 5-2 and rallied behind Megan Lingafelter on her run of five service points to take an 8-5 lead that they wouldn’t let go of.
Maddie Carlson recorded 9 assists and 4 digs, and Huppenbauer had 5 kills and 3 aces.
AREA VOLLEYBALL
Knoxville swept Ridgewood 25-16, 25-19. Emily Lenze had seven kills and 8 digs while Kaite Hummel served up 17 points and 3 aces for the Blue Bullets.
Monmouth-Roseville got a road win last night by defeating Camp Point Central 25-11, 25-12. Kaylee Woodard had 13 points – with 6 aces – 4 digs, and 6 kills.
Bushnell-Prairie City swept Peoria Heights 25-11, 25-12. Mollee Bartlett lead the Spartons with 5 kills, 5 service points, and 8 assists while Mariah Garzee served 17 points.
Abingdon-Avon defeated ROWVA in straight sets last night, 25-16, 25-18
GIRLS GOLF
Galesburg rolls Mercer County 187-235. Kirsten Osborn lead individuals with a 42 earning medalist honors.
Maitlyn Sanders and Rylee Chockley each shot a 43 while Halle Majdich shot a 59.
GHS is 4-1.
BOYS GOLF
After ending in a tie of 166, Macomb wins the tiebreaker against Galesburg 213-214.
Owen Hawkins shot a 37 to lead the Streaks and earn medalist honors while Lucas Watson shot a 42, Luke Bradburn had a 43, Justin Endthoff had a 44, and Charles Drauden shot a 48.
Galesburg is 4-4 on the year.
BOYS SOCCER
The Silver Streaks fell to Rock Island yesterday 5-3 in overtime.
Regulation ended at a 2-2 tie but Galebsurg just couldn’t get the win.
The Streaks drop to 4-2-1 on the year.
Ezechiel Biamungu, Gedeon Mukeba, and Joel Bizau had goals for GHS.

COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL
The Carl Sandburg College Chargers dominated Monmouth College’s JV squad by sweeping Scots 25-12, 25-19, 25-16.
Sandburg trailed for just 11 points in the match to improve to 3-5 on the season.
Freshman Hannah Thompson led the Chargers attack with 9 kills while totaling 11 digs.
Lexi Strange had 7 kills for CSC while sophomore Anna Schierer racked up the team-leading 3 blocks.
Monmouth led the second set before a Price kill opened a 10-0 run to set up set point for the Chargers.
Sandburg led 9-8 in the third before pulling away with 5 straight points.
Sandburg plays Kishwaukee at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
