
Linda A. Turney, 79, of Oquawka, Ill. Died 7:56 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, Illinois
Linda was born September 1, 1938 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Edwin A. and Anne M. Pouche Soderquist. She married Don Roach. She later married Phil E. Turney on April 6, 1973 in Galesburg, Ill. He survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Teri (Jerry) Sartin of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two stepsons, Jeff Turney of Hermosa Beach, Calif. and Jay (and Diane) Turney of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Kim Reda of Rock Island, Ill. and Jill Turney of Galesburg; a sister, Sandy (and George) Hillier of Galesburg; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and two nieces, Tammy (and Phil) Allison of Galesburg and Lori Montgomery of Galesburg. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Linda lived most all of her life in Galesburg before moving to Oquawka, Ill. in 1984. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1956 and graduated from the Cottage Hospital School of Nursing in 1960. She worked as a Register Nurse in a number of physician’s offices in Galesburg and later worked 14 years at the Health Clinic in Oquawka.
Linda is of the Lutheran Faith. She was a member of the Prairie Drifters Snowmobile Club in Galesburg.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the chapel.
