Here’s a re-cap of tonight’s game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:
The Quincy Blue Devils scored on each of their first 6 offensive possessions and added a defensive interception for a touchdown, as Quincy celebrated its Homecoming with a 49-24 victory over the Galesburg Silver Streaks.
Silver Streaks scored in the first drive of the game, a 34-yard field goal from Hunter Sanders, but that 3-0 lead did not last long as Jarell Brock came right back on the first play from scrimmage with an 80-yard touchdown run that put the Blue Devils up 7-3 and they led the rest of the way.
Quincy snapped a two-game losing streak with a victory at Geneseo last week so they are .500 at 2-2 on the season and 1-0 in the conference. Galesburg’s two game streak comes to an end as they drop to 0-1 in conference play.
The Dave’s Autobody Crunchtime Player of the Game tonight was Kobe Ramirez.
Silver Streaks sophomores rally for a victory, scoring a game winning touchdown with just a little over a minute to go in their 19-18 win.
Silver Streaks will be back home next Friday night to take on the Moline Maroons at Van Dyke Field and we will cover that game on WGIL at 7:06.
