EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) — Authorities say a security guard was shot and wounded during an armed robbery of the Casino Queen riverboat in East St. Louis.
The Illinois State Police say the incident involving three armed men occurred just before 3 a.m. Sunday.
A police statement indicates that the suspects fired shots during the robbery. A security guard was struck and is in stable condition at a local hospital.
Authorities did not release the security guard’s name or details of his injuries. There are no reports of injuries to any casino patrons.
The suspects escaped with an unknown amount of cash and remain at large.
