Mr. Randy A. Wehrwein, 53, of Rockford, Illinois, formerly of Galesburg, Illinois died 8:32 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at University of Chicago Hospital, Chicago, Illinois.
He was born February 20, 1964 in Harvard, Illinois to David J. and Joanne L. Blackledge Wehrwein.
Surviving is his mother, Joanne Wehrwein of Lakeland, Florida, two sisters, Sue (and Steve) Baker of Galesburg and Tammi (and Tom) Alexander of Lakeland, Florida, three nieces, Stefanie Baker, Sara Baker and Tayla Alexander and a nephew Tye Alexander and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, David J. Wehrwein on April 11, 2011 and two brothers, Rick David Wehrwein and Scott Wehrwein.
Randy graduated from Galesburg High School in 1983. He worked for Maytag Manufacturing Company in Galesburg. He later worked for the Rockford Register Star Newspaper in Rockford, Illinois. He was a member of Sharon Lutheran Church in Sharon, Wisconsin. Randy enjoyed all sports, especially fishing and bicycling. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral service.
