Karen L. Taylor, 46 of Abingdon, passed away at 7:55 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born May 21, 1971 in Galesburg, the daughter of Leon and Cindy Branson Morris.  She married Michael Taylor.

Karen is survived by her husband, Mike; her children, Logan Taylor, Courtney Taylor and Martha Taylor all of Abingdon; one grandson on the way; her father, Leon (Mary) Morris of Monmouth; her mother, Cindy Branson of Missouri; her siblings, Lisa Mamenga of Galesburg, Kathy Morris of Galesburg, Leon Morris of Kewanee, Matthew Morris of Kewanee and Stephan Morris of Knoxville.

Karen grew up in the Knoxville and Dahinda areas.  She graduated from Knoxville High School.  She had lived most of her adult life in the Berwick and Abingdon areas.  She earned her CNA from Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg.  She worked as a CNA at the former Galesburg Terrace and the Care Center of Abingdon.  She also worked as a librarian at the John Mosser Public Library in Abingdon.  She attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Abingdon.  She enjoyed baking, listening to country music and watching wrestling on TV.

Cremation will be accorded.  Celebration of life service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Church of God of Prophecy, 207 N. Washington St. in Abingdon.  Rev. Jeremiah Barker will officiate.  Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the church.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
