Brent Ogilvie, 76, of Alexis, IL died at 6:40 am Saturday, November 18, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.
Brent was born September 2, 1941 in Winkle, IL the son of Britain and Lucille Pearl (Yung) Ogilvie. He was raised and educated in Winkle, graduating from Pinckneyville High School in 1959.
He married Iliene Burns in Fairfield, IA on December 19, 1964 and she survives.
Brent was a farmer and raised a wide variety of farm animals. He also worked for a time for the Spring Grove and Kelly Townships in Warren County, IL
Brent loved tinkering with his antique tractors especially his Oliver 1950. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Iliene Ogilvie; sons, Russell (Erica) Ogilvie and Dustin Ogilvie all of Alexis; his special daughter, Christine Gilbert of Galesburg; 4 grandchildren, Hope, Zac, Tyler and Ethan; his brother, Dave (Helen) Ogilvie of New Jersey; 3 sisters, Virginia (Joe) Hylla of Nashville, IL, Brita Colston and Trula (Neal) Hirte both of Coulterville, IL; several nieces and nephews and his faithful companion, Ruger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Tim Ogilvie and brother, Frank Ogilvie.
Cremation has been accorded. No Visitation or services are planned. A private family interment in Alexis Cemetery will take place at a later date. A memorial fund has been established to be designated later. McGuire and Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.
