Cathy Sue Swanson, 62, of Monmouth, IL, died at 11:55 am, Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Roseville Nursing Home, Roseville, IL
She was born November 8, 1955 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Orville and Frances (Slagel) Smock. She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School.
Cathy was a cook at Meling’s Restaurant in Monmouth for many years before retiring.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, horses and traveling.
Survivors include her son, Casey (Lisa) Reynolds of Roseville; grandchildren, Katelynn Reynolds and James Reynolds both of Roseville; her brothers, Edwin (Donna) Smock of rural Monmouth; her sister, Judy (Bill) Ranken of Monmouth; nieces and nephews; special family friends the Arteaga Family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Helen Boys and Thelma Clayton; 1 brother, Pete Smock.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday, December 1, 2017 at McGuire and Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Cremation has been accorded. A private interment will take place at Warren County Memorial Park at a later date. Memorials may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
