Here’s a re-cap of tonight’s game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:
After a night of great energy Friday in a 4-point win in East Moline against United-Township, the Silver Streaks came back home tonight and struggled to consistently find and maintain that energy, in a 51-47 loss to the Morton Potters.
The best quarter by far for the Silver Streaks was the 3rd, trailing by 8 coming into the 2nd half, outscoring Morton 17-12, cut the deficit down to 3 and eventually took the lead into the 3rd and 4th Quarters.
Jared Crider was the aggressor for Morton as he attacked the basket, ended up shooting 19 free throws on the night and led the Potters for 20-points as they improve to 7-3. Galesburg meanwhile falls to 6-2.
Andrew Anderson, after scoring just two points in the first half was our Dave’s Auto Body Crunch-Time Player of the Game, leading that 3rd Quarter charge with 10, finishing with 19 as Cornell Dotson was also in double-figures with 14.
Silver Streaks sophomores were winners as they knocked off Morton, 38-37.
Our next broadcast comes your way next Friday night with a Western Big 6 conference game at Rock Island-Alleman, with a game against Bettendorf in the Iowa/Illinois Shootout on Saturday, at Augustana College.
