Mary Lou Bradbury, 77, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away peacefully at home at 4:03 pm Saturday, December 9, 2017.She was born January 25, 1940 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of Glenn W. and Helen E. McNeff O’Connor.
Mary Lou is survived by her two sons, Greg A. (Cheryl) Bradbury of Mesa, Arizona and M. Shane (Deb) Bradbury of Galesburg; her daughter, Mary Lynn Bradbury of Carrolton, Texas; her brother, G. Edward (Joyce) O’Connor of Tifton, Georgia; two grandchildren, Bruce Bradbury and Haley Seufert; four step grandchildren, Terri Irish, Troy Miller, Lauren and Michael Hyland; one great grandchild, Avalon Bradbury and six step great grandchildren, Keegan and Katie Irish, Audrey, Emerson, Wrigley and Addisyn Miller; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Donald E. “Bunny” O’Connor and her sister-in-law, M. Joan O’Connor.
Mary Lou worked for OSF St. Mary Medical Center in the housekeeping department for 22 years, retiring in 2005. She graduated from St. Mary Academy in 1958. She was raised in Mt. Sterling, Illinois and raised her family in Knoxville, Illinois. She was of the Catholic faith. Mary Lou enjoyed watching movies, shopping, Elvis, Johnny Depp, butterflies, turtles and especially spending time with her family and friends. She loved and missed her four-legged companion Casey who passed in 1996.
Cremation will be accorded. Graveside services and burial will be held at a later date in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Mt. Sterling. Memorials may be made in Mary Lou’s name to any cancer affiliations or animal charities of your choice.
