The Galesburg Silver Streak Girls basketball team drops to 5-6 on the season and 2-2 in conference play as they fall to the Moline Maroons, 51-39. The Maroons now advance to 7-3 on the season and 3-1 in the Western Big 6. The Streaks did have a couple of players in double figures lead by Emily Meinert who finished with a double-double, 15 points and 12 rebounds, she was 7/8 from the free-throw line hitting seven in a row after missing her first. Emily Meinert was our Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game. Andrea Sampson added 13 points for the Streaks with a basket, three 3-pointer, and 2/3 from the line. The Silver Streaks handled the ball pretty well only turning it over eleven times but shooting still seems to plague the Steaks with 12/45 from the field, only 27% for the game. The GHS girls will have the weekend off and be back next Thursday night as they take on Peoria Notre Dame. Tom Meredith and Erik Gibson have it at 6:40 pm for pre-game on 93.7 FM & 1400 AM, WGIL.
