Here’s a re-cap of tonight’s game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:
The Galesburg boys’ basketball teams loss to Quincy was a game of runs and unfortunately for the Streaks, all of them in favor of the Blue Devils. Quincy had an 8-0 run at the start of the 1st Quarter, had another early in the 2nd and from about the last 4 minutes of the 2nd Quarter into the 3rd expanded the lead to a 70-33 victory over Galesburg.
Compounding it all for Galesburg were the 20 turnovers committed and poor shooting for the game just 13-44 and 3-21 from the 3-point line.
Galesburg put no players in double-figures as Quinn and Andrew Anderson each led the way with 9 points.
Tonight’s loss snaps the Streaks’ 4-game winning streak dropping to 16-7 on the season and 2-3 in Western Big 6 conference action. Quincy improves to 13-3 overall and 4-1 in conference play.
No Dave’s Autobody Crunch-time Player of the Game was selected. Galesburg’s next match-up is a road game at Rock Island next Friday night.
