Verna Bramlett, age 91, of East Galesburg, Illinois, died at 12:40 P.M. on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Marigold Rehab & Health Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois.
She was born on October 24, 1926 in Astoria, Illinois, the daughter of Chester and Goldie (Stambaugh) Derry. She was reared and educated in London Mills, Illinois. She married Cecil C. Bramlett on May 26, 1943 in Abingdon, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2014.
Verna is survived by her children: Gerald (Linda) Bramlett of Galesburg, Illinois, Dennis (Marcia) Bramlett of Galesburg, Illinois, Gale (Rene) Bramlett of Rio, Illinois, Katherine (Joel) Aldrich of Galesburg, Illinois, Rebecca (Jeff) Aldrich of Galesburg, Illinois; twenty grandchildren; and thirty-five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother; and three sisters.
She was employed by the Galesburg Mental Health Research for twenty years; she retired in 1985. Verna was a member of the 1st Apostolic Tabernacle Church in Galesburg, Illinois.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 9, 2018 at the 1st Apostolic Tabernacle Church, 562 West North Street, Galesburg, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 9, 2018 at the 1st Apostolic Tabernacle Church, Rev. Joel Aldrich officiating. Interment will be held at the Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the 1st Apostolic Tabernacle Church or to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
