CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago police say a 15-year-old boy was killed and a 19-year-old woman was injured in a shooting in a neighborhood on the city’s South Side.
Police say the two were walking in Chatham about 5:20 p.m. Monday when someone approached them and fired shots. Police and the Cook County medical examiner identified the boy as Larenzo Smith, who lived on the same block as the shooting. He was pronounced dead at Comer Children’s Hospital.
Police say the woman was shot in the hip and taken to an Oak Lawn hospital where she was in stable condition.
Police say no one was in custody.
