
Numa O. VanNatta, 89, of Avon, Illinois passed away at 2:37 PM Wednesday February 21, 2018 at OSF St. Mary’s Hospital in Galesburg, IL. He was born June 24, 1928 in Quincy, IL to Lloyd and Francis (Miller) VanNatta. He married Linda Lawson on August 16, 1984 in Banner, IL. She survives.Also surviving are two children, Robert (Ellen) VanNatta of Macomb, IL; Lisa (Jim) Nader of Farmington, IL; three step-daughters, Linda Ledbetter of Wataga, IL; Mary (Pete) Grimes of Wataga, IL; Jennifer Davis of Monmouth, IL; two foster children Ralph and Ronnie Maple both of Washington, IL; several grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his special companion Mrs. Lady.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Numa had a special place in his heart and in his home for children, especially those in need, having fostered 32 children throughout the years. He was also an avid NASCAR race fan who particularly enjoyed Tony Stewart. Numa was also a history buff.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM Saturday February 24, 2018 at the Corman Memorial Home in Avon.
