The Galesburg area is littered with events for good causes this weekend.
The Galesburg Academy of Martial Arts is hosting a Women’s Self Defense class tomorrow from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Ladies aged 12 and up can sign up for the class at $30 per person or bring a friend and it’s $25.

Then on Sunday, the ROWVA FFA will be hosting the 25th annual Toy Show from 9:00am to 2:00pm in the ROWVA High School Gym.
At 1:00pm is the ROWVA FFA Foundation Auction. The auction will feature items that range from hogs and seed, to furniture, art, toys, and food.
The Knoxville Athletic Boosters are hosting a “Giveaway and Bash” tomorrow night starting at 7:00pm at the Knoxville American Legion.
Admission to the event is $5.00 and features a silent auction and a ten thousand dollar giveaway.
Tickets for the giveaway are $100 and the night will also feature music by Patrick N Swayze at 8:00pm until midnight.
If you missed out on pancakes last month, the Berwick Baptist Church can help.
The Whole Hog Sausage & Pancake Supper at the church is tomorrow from 4:00pm to 7:00pm for a free will donation.
Tomorrow starting at noon until 6:00pm, Sidetrax in Galesburg is hosting a “Shave for Kids” for St. Baldrick’s Foundation to conquer childhood cancers.
All are welcome whether you choose to shave your head, donate, or volunteer. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-powered charity for childhood cancer research.
Another good cause: the 3rd Annual Community Preschool Trivia Night is tomorrow starting at 6:00pm at Harley’s Pub on Grand Avenue in Galesburg.
As CPS’ largest fundraiser of the year, the night will feature a 50/50, wine pull, live auction, and of course, trivia.
Sunday the Ladies of Mary from Immaculate Heart of Mary church in Galesburg are sponsoring their annual “Spaghetti Dinner” starting at 4:30pm to 7:00pm.
The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for kids under 10 and eat-in and carry-out will be available.
