The Galesburg High School athletic complex surrounding Van Dyke Field will officially be known as F&M Bank Stadium. The District 205 School Board made it official Tuesday night during a special meeting.

The vote was 6-0 with member Wayne Statham abstaining because his law firm, Statham and Long, represented F&M in this process.

The agreement is for F&M to pay District 205 $25,000 per year until 2028 for the naming rights and certain other ancillary benefits.

The playing field itself will remain as the Van Dyke Athletic Field.

Superintendent John Asplund says that to his knowledge this agreement has been in the works since 2014.

The District also will allow other avenues of F&M brand exposure including listing F&M as the “Official Bank of District 205”, allowing the bank’s logo on concession stand materials and the option to use their logo as an admittance stamp to games.

Asplund says there are currently no plans to sell naming rights to any other District 205 facilities.
