New charges are pending after meth was discovered in the purse of a Galesburg woman arrested on an outstanding Knox County warrant.
Galesburg Police officers were dispatched to the 200-block of Pine Street at 2:02 p.m. Sunday in reference to an unwanted subject.
The complainant reported that 28-year-old Sharee A. Word was on the property and was not wanted.
Dispatch informed officers that Word had a Knox County warrant for failure to appear in court related to a domestic battery case.
She was arrested on the warrant and was searched, to which officers discovered a hypodermic syringe, a baggie with shard like material that later field tested positive for methamphetamine, as well as a baggie containing white powder residue.
Word denied the purse was hers, but officers did also find a bank document bearing her name and dated for May 7th, as well as a receipt from that day with her name on it.
She was taken to the Knox County Jail for processing.
