Shirley M. Schreck,80, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 4:45 pm, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth, ILShe was born February 1, 1938 in Oelwein, IA the daughter of Eugene O. and Emma E. (Hyde) Clark. She was raised and educated in Oelwein, graduating from Sacred Heart High School in 1956.
Shirley married James Schreck on December 1, 1956 in Oelwein, Iowa and he passed away December 25, 2016
Shirley worked as a Nurses Aid at Sacred Heart Hospital in Oelwein, IA where she met Jim. Shirley later worked at the Triangle Restaurant before becoming a full time homemaker and Mom. She also provided daycare for many children, her grandchildren and some of her great grandchildren.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Monmouth and the Altar & Rosary Society.
She enjoyed camping, playing cards, having coffee with friends, spending time with her family and just being with Jim.
Survivors include her 5 children, Michael Schreck, Joseph (Jayne) Schreck, Jean (Jeff) Haase and Timothy (Brenda) Schreck all of Monmouth and Judy (Eric) Hart of Roseville; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 sister, Bernita Auer and 1 brother, Christopher Clark.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be 1:30 pm, Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Monmouth. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Monmouth. Friends may call Thursday at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth where there will be a Rosary Services beginning at 12:00 Noon. Memorials may be given to Immaculate Conception Church
