Norma Lucile Kirkpatrick, 96, of Roseville, IL passed away at 2:00 am Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at her home.

She was born May 15, 1922 at home on the Family Farm north of Roseville, IL, the daughter of Victor Twomey and Lucile (McElroy) Twomey.  She was raised and educated in Roseville, graduating from Roseville High School in 1939.  She later graduated from Western Illinois Techers College with a Home Economics degree.

 

Norma married Charles Kirkpatrick on December 27, 1942 in Ft. Riley, Kansas and he survives.

 

Norma was a Home Economics Teacher in Mt. Sterling, IL, then a homemaker.

 

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Monmouth, IL.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Norma was a member of the Women’s Club (past president), Altar & Rosary (past president), TTT, Warren Henderson Home Economists, and Science & Arts Club.

 

Survivors include her husband Charles; eight children; Kay (Glenn) Darlington of Tucson, AZ, Linda (Rick) Jones of Castle Rock, CO, Vicki (Stew) Gilmore of Carterville, IL, Connie (Jim) Grant of Roseville, IL, Jonna Young of Smithshire, IL, Mary Alice (Jim) Addis, of Lafayette, IL, Holly (Kurt) Kociuba of Liberty Hills, TX, Ed (Natalie) Kirkpatrick of Crystal Lake, IL; two brothers; John Twomey of Monmouth, IL and Victor Twomey of Roseville, IL; 24 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mary Jane Twomey, her brother Pat Twomey, and nephew Joe Twomey.

 

Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30am, Monday, July 23, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Monmouth.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Monmouth.  Visitation will be Sunday, July 22, 2018 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth from 3:00-6:00 pm., with a Rosary Service beginning at 2:30 pm.
