Lois Ann Hamilton, 75, of Appleton, Wisconsin, formerly of Galesburg, died at 4:58 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Brewster Village in Appleton.She was born August 27, 1942, in Galesburg the daughter of Perry S. and Catherine Hill Crouch. She married Andrew Smith Hamilton on December 27, 1969, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death July 28, 2016.

She is survived by a son, David and his wife, Robin, Hamilton of Neenah, Wisconsin; a daughter, Ann Marie Hamilton of Appleton, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Karissa, Michael, Demetric, Kimberly, and Donavon; three great grandchildren of Karissa and her husband, Nate Harley, Trae, Khloe, and Apollo; one brother, Lester Crouch in Tennessee; and one sister, Connie Keener of Galesburg. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers, and four sisters.

Lois enjoyed and worked many years as a kid caretaker, whether it be her own, family, or others. Many of the kids she took care of were those of Salvation Army officers stationed in Galesburg. In addition to that, she served ice cream at Crombie’s Dairy, drove a taxi, taught Sunday school, and was a Salvation Army thrift store sales clerk in Joliet and Galesburg. She also may have been seen playing a few recreational Bingo games with family and friends.

Visitation for family will be 10:30 to 11 a.m. and friends 11 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2018 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Graveside service will follow at 12 noon in the Oneida Cemetery. Longtime best friend, Sharon Amick, will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army.
