Another block of Brooks Street will closed today for about three weeks as construction crews continue the replacement of Brooks, all the way from Lombard to Oak Street.
This latest section being done is Brooks from Locust to Oak, as well as the Brooks/Locust intersection.
The work is being done about a block away from Lombard Middle School.
City Council approved Laverdiere Construction, out of Macomb, for the job at their meeting on June 4 for a little over $1 million.
Council documents says that existing street base and concrete gutter will be replaced with a full depth concrete pavement and concrete curb and gutter.
Also included in the deal were new driveway approaches for properties as well as sidewalk replacement.
Already the intersection of Brooks and Lombard streets has been repaired and a water main’s been replaced on Oak Street just off of Brooks.
