The American Red Cross is seeking blood donations as they continue to assist with the recovery efforts in Florida, following the aftermath of Hurricane Michael and Florence.
Gail McGovern, Red Cross CEO and President, says that the hurricanes caused a lot of cancellations of blood drives in the southern U.S., so blood donations are needed.
In addition, the Red Cross is seeking monitory donations as well as volunteers.
Upcoming Red Cross blood drives are as follows:
- Friday, October 19th, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Alwood High School in Woodhull
- Tuesday, October 23rd, 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Galva
- Wednesday, October 24th, 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Knox Agri Center in Galesburg
- Friday, October 26th, 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Knox College Seymour Hall in Galesburg
Additionally, the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center has drives regularly in the area looking to replenish their supplies for local hospitals. Upcoming blood drives for the MVRBC are as follows:
