Galesburg Silver Streaks VS. Granite City Warriors

Here is a recap of the game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:

The Galesburg High School Football team didn’t end the season in the way that they had hoped. Finishing 1 and 8 after a 60 to 27 loss to Granite City a game that the Warriors need in order to become playoff eligible and they will do that.

Most of the damage was done by Granite City’s quarterback Freddie Edwards; he rushed for four touchdowns on the night 15 carries and 233 yards. He also threw for three touchdowns and another 119 yards as he helps push his team into the playoffs.

As for the Silver Streaks Kobe Ramirez finished his stellar career with 19 carries and 128 yards 2 touchdowns and also a reception for a touchdown of 52 yards. He finishes as Galesburg High Schools All time touchdown leader with 34 rushing touchdowns and for that Kobe is our Dave’s Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the game.

The GHS sophomores were big winners over Granite City 57 to 22 to provide one highlight of the night and the undefeated freshman team will play for it’s final win of the season coming up at 11 am Saturday against United Township.
