
Mr. James T.“Fuzzy” Condon, 70, of Galesburg died at 1:29 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2018 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.James was born January 10, 1948 in Galesburg to John and Anne (Gioannini) Condon. James married Melissa L. McLaren in Galesburg on October 18, 1986.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Melissa; his children, Chris (Becky) Dugan of Galesburg, Brent (Jamie) Liedtke of Pekin, and Courtney (Tyler) Schweigert of Morton; seven grandchildren, Jadynn, Owen, Tony, Logan, Gabby, Zoe, and Colton; two brothers, Mike Condon of Knoxville and Pat (Lorraine) Condon of Surfside, South Carolina; one sister, Margaret Landow of Katy, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his two favorite felines, Aussie and Sydney. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Fuzzy was raised and educated in Galesburg, graduating from Costa High School in 1966. After high school, he enlisted into the U.S. Air Force, serving four years before being honorably discharged as a Sergeant E4. He continued to serve in the National Guard. Fuzzy worked for Maytag from 1966 until retiring in 2002. He was of Catholic faith and was a member of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed mowing, cheering on the Chicago Cubs and spending time with his dear cats—he will be remembered for his love for animals.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. at the chapel with Deacon Michael Crummer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery with military honors conducted by the VFW/American Legion/AMVETS Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knox County Humane Society.
